Philippines Embraces Alternative Medicine

 



 
The Philippines is embracing the practice of Alternative Medicine.  In fact the government passed a bill, Republic Act No. 8423 creating the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care or PITACH accelerating the development  of fund and for other purposes.  It took effect on December 1997 during the time of then President Fidel V. Ramos.  Medicinal herbs are already manufactured in the Philippines by Pharmaceutical Laboratories and drugstores are carrying these products.

In terms of Alternative Therapies, the Philippines is far more advance in Asia, because the government through the efforts of the Department of Health takes supportive action to widen the horizon in alternative Medicine.  Most doctors both public and in private hospitals practice Alternative Medicine.
