A New Breed of Doctors - Represent the Physician of the Future

Let me introduce Dr. Robert Willix, Jr., a well known heart surgeon who developed the only heart surgery program in South Dakota.  He was the only Board Certified Surgeon in that state performing 2,000 coronary by-pass operations.  But he had observed that a great number of his patients were back on the operating table within 3 to 5 years.  Many had clogged arteries again.  Others survived but most died on the operating table.  Even for those who get 'well', life is never the same.  He said,  "Open heart surgery is a major trauma.  It's a horrible thing to go through.  I've seen strong people became weak and dependent".  He found out something was very wrong.  The unhealthy habits were killing his patients.

When he set to do a triple by-pass operation on a 72 years old man, it really shook him up when he found out that the man needed five bypasses, but the arteries were so hard it couldn't be cut off by a scalpel.  So they sewed him up again without doing the bypasses because it was hopeless.  The man was advised to change his diet, add food supplements to his medication and exercise.

A year later the man was farming again. He was off on all medications, had no more chest pain but maintained food supplementation . Ten years after, the man was still alive, still farming and walked many miles a day.

Dr. Willix, Jr.tried something else.  He made a deal with his patients.  Instead of surgery he advises them to change their diet,  prescribed food supplements, stop smoking and established an escalating program of exercise.

This wealthy heart surgeon decided to end his lucrative career because he realized he was not helping people instead he changed his way of looking at health without drug and surgery.  He moved to Florida and practice
preventive medicine, saving many more lives than he ever did as a cardiac surgeon.  He came to believed that the medical establishment is totally wrong about diseases which have a simple underlying cause: OPTIMUM NUTRITION.

Dr. Willix, Jr. fits to category C model.
